No doubt that one of my favourite places to enjoy the night of Rio de Janeiro is the beautiful and big Rio Scenarium. It is a big house with several floors and ambients, all of them decorated with all fornitures and antiquities. The music is typically brazilian (samba, forró and MPB), most of the times, is live music. I love to feel the brazilian music sorrounded by a lot of great dancers (couples or alone) in this wonderful space.

You can enjoy the night having a delicious 'caipirinha' in any of the bars or sit around a table and enjoy the night having your favourite drink and something to eat.

Other of my favourite places to go is the genuine Carioca da Gema. It is located in the heart of the old and traditional neighborhood of the Lapa, very close to the Arches of the Lapa. You can enjoy a frozen beer while you are dancing and having a nice time. You also can have something to eat if you are lucky to have a table.

The majority of the clients are local and they love to enjoy their spare time dancing and having fun. The nightclub is not very big and i reccommend you to assist quite early.

If you are looking for a 'traditional' nightclub, i recommend you to go to Baronneti in Ipanema. It is trendy and upscale nightclub. You can enjoy the best drinks sorrounded of upper class people of Rio de Janeiro. Easily you can find artists, models or actors in this selected nightclub. The music is american house but the DJ's are locals.

I really advice you to dress you well and been at the entrance a little bit before of 11:00pm to make sure that you can enter to this exclusive nightclub.

I like to go to the Vinicius Bar when i want to enjoy Bossanova music. It is a temple for all the people that love MPB music (Brazilian Popoular Music) specially the Bossanova. All the bar is dedicated to Vinicius de Morães the genious of Bossanova and a hero in Brazil. You can enjoy a high quality live music sit around a table having drinks and good dishes. Vinicius offers also a restaurant but i have to confess that i have never eaten in it.

I love to sit in a table on the corner and live the magic of the live music and watch all the people around singing and having fun.

When i want to have a nice time and drink a good International or a Brazilian Cocktail, my favourite place is Mud Bug. Located in the heart of Copacabana, this pub offers a wide range of beers and spirits. You also can have delicious snacks while you are enjoying your drink, like French fries with bacon and cheese. The bartenders and waiters are very friendly and funny and you feel at home since the first moment.

This traditional pub is in american pub of the 50's style. The furnitures are all in wood and there are a lot of decoration goods inspired in cinema and travel. They also offer live music everyweek
