Confeiteria Colombo

Having a good cup of coffee is one of my favourite pleasures. I always go to Confeiteria Colombo, when i have a chance. It is an elegant 'Art Nouveau' cafe, inaugurated in the center of Rio de Janeiro at the end of the 19th century. You can have a good cup of coffee or tea sitting around an old marble table. Althought they offer a good selection of salty snacks, they are specialized in all kind of cakes and sweets; my favourite one is the 'Folhado de Nozes' that is a puff pastry of walnuts in the perfect point of sweetness.

The stained glass roof, the big mirrors, the tables, the service.. take me to a past time. I reccommend to go there always from Monday to Friday in office time.

Cafeína

Cafeína is a chain of cafes very well-known for the quality of their products. I like to go to one located on Constante Ramos st. in Copacabana. The coffee is good, and of course, you can ask for a cup of tea or a soda. I love to have a table in the terrace and enjoy a good cup of coffee with a slice of the marvelous 'Gâmbio de Banana' that is a cake of oats with walnuts, raisins and banana sweet.

The decoration of the cafe is in an elegant brazilian rustical style that makes the place very welcoming.
