Carnaval of Rio de Janeiro Information
Carnaval of Rio de Janeiro is the biggest party in the world. No other party or celebration is bigger than this one. All the city of Rio de Janeiro becomes a huge party. The best known is the Carnaval Parade that take place in the Sambodromo, a 'stadium' of the samba located in the center of the city. The best days to assist to the Parade are Sunday and Monday of Carnaval when the best Samba Schools of the Special Group of Rio de Janeiro parade on it. As the Carnaval dates are different every year, we would like to inform you that best dates of the Carnaval 2011 will be March 6th and 7th.
There are several parades that take place in the Sambodromo at other dates like the Children Schools of Samba (Friday 4th) the Schools of the Group A (Saturday 5th) and Group B (Tuesday 8th).
The Saturday 12th is the "Dia das Campeãs" reserved for the six first Samba Schools Classified of the Special Group.
There are other parties all around the Copacabana and Ipanema. The most wellknown is the elegant and exclusive Magic Ball of the Copacabana Palace Hotel on (To Confirm). We also advice to assist the Ball Masque at Sofitel Hotel (To Confirm) and the Scala Balls at the Scala Nightclub every night during the Carnival's week.

"Carnaval was awesome!!! The city had a festive atmosphere witch catched me in a magic spell. We enjoyed with plenty of parties anytime in any corner of both Copacabana and Ipanema. Luckily we could relax in our nice penthouse in Leme. The private terrace with the pool and the amazing view of the whole Copacabana Beach were the most. I loved to lie down on the hammocks for hours!!!
